Spring Equinox Blow-Out
No. 67, March 24, 2010.
Naval Aviation in Audio celebrated the Spring in 2010 with its second annual playing of Igor Stravinksy’s Rite Of Spring. This time the sacrificial audiobook was Peggy Klaus’s Brag! The Art Of Tooting Your Own Horn Without Blowing It, and supplemental thunder was supplied by the mixed CD Winnipeg Riot: 18 Killers From Canada’s Musical Murder Capital. Corporate careerism enmeshed in scenes from Pagan Russia collides with jolts of Winnipeggan punk.

2. Flux Capacitor – The Surfadelics

Submarine Outhouse
This episode featured Frankfurter Ahnung, a collection of some of the most adventurous music out of Europe (especially London), as well as live readings of poetry by Out to Lunch, curator of the CD and leading critic and champion for the revolutionary artistic tendancy called the Esemplasm.
And to supplement this urgent shot from the London avant-garde, I played seven tracks from Winnipeg Riot, a 2005 collection of 18 Killers from Canada's Musical Murder Capital. While I despise much of the fluff that passes as "punk rock" & "indie rock" at this late date, I am amazed at how dissonant & powerful much of this recent Winnipeggan music is. Aired December 17, 2008
Part 1:

3. "I didn't know it segued that way" – Frankfurter Ahnung Chorus

5. Phlegmosaurus – Lendormin
6. The Sinister Urge – The Rockadoras
7. "A Right Cutter" – Frankfurter Ahnung Chorus
8. 1/28 Silverfish Macronix – Derek Bailey
9. Work for the Man – Squareheads
10. The Dust Parade – Marie-Angelique Bueler [Ensamble Rosario Cond. Marisol Gentile] -- Embittered Ruth - Out to Lunch
11. Robbin' a Bank – Hot Live Guys

5. No Competition – The Insaniacs
6. This Speech Made by Mr. Blair, Glasgow, Feb 15th, 2003 - Sean Bonney -- Duke of Orchestral Prunes - Frank Zappa
