This was a Solstice/Christmas-themed episode. Aired December 24, 2008
"If murk devour,
and none weave again in gossamer:
These rays were ours,
We made and unmade them. Not the shudder of continents
doused us, the moon's passion, nor crash of comets.
In the fathomless heat of our dwarfdom, our dream's combustion,
We contrived the power, the blast that snuffed us."
- Earle Birney, Vancouver Lights

This episode featured Frankfurter Ahnung, a collection of some of the most adventurous music out of Europe (especially London), as well as live readings of poetry by Out to Lunch, curator of the CD and leading critic and champion for the revolutionary artistic tendancy called the Esemplasm.
And to supplement this urgent shot from the London avant-garde, I played seven tracks from Winnipeg Riot, a 2005 collection of 18 Killers from Canada's Musical Murder Capital. While I despise much of the fluff that passes as "punk rock" & "indie rock" at this late date, I am amazed at how dissonant & powerful much of this recent Winnipeggan music is. This episode was to be a more secular journey than the last, but a serendipitus discovery of a 2nd-hand copy of the obscure Hellephant CD by Vancouver’s The Muscle Bitches sent us back into the world of demonic phantasmagora (& if anyone knows how to get a copy of the Muscle Bitches extremely rare Demon Boy Takes a Lover CD please let me know so I can put it on air).
And to counteract the Muscle Bitches' Satanic Elephant worship, I called upon the Prophets Isaiah (on the Commuters' Audio Bible, to be accompanied by Pierre Boulez' Dialogue of the Double Shadow) and the paranoid religious psychodrama of Polly Jean Harvey with John Parish.
