Punk Emetics Descension

No.261, aired May 14, 2014.

This was a fun one. Liberal use of the Emetics Minute Album (60+ concrete music experiments, each one minute long), along with Off! and Xenakis, enabled me to make the first half sound like a punk rock version of Zappa’s Lather album. Part 2 featured Descension, a British noiz-assault-improv band I have heard whispers and legends about for years, but only recently acquired in CD form. Plus poetry galore! Readings in the first half of Regina poet Aleks McHugh. The second half featured more from YELLOW FIELD #NINE, collated by Edric Mesmer. Texts by Lori Anderson Moseman and Kaie Kellough.
